Lahore’s Government College University Turns into Hogwarts for week-long Harry Potter Festival

We all know what education means and its purpose in the life of all the human beings in order to make them more civilized. The educational institutions in any country intend to serve the same purpose in different ways. There are different ways of education that an institute can teach to the pupils. Every institute around the globe has its own way to spread education. We might have seen many innovations made by different institutes in this context and here comes the most heart warming news about one of the top class Pakistani institute named GCU (Government College University).

The brilliant students of the said university turned their 15 years old campus into Hogwarts. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a fictional British boarding school of magic for students aged eleven to eighteen, and is the primary setting for the first six books in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series and serves as a major setting in the Wizarding World universe.

Hogwarts was established in the High Lands of Scotland to educate young wizards and witches as well as to keep students safe from muggle persecution. Theory has it that Rowena Ravenclaw came up with the name of Hogwarts after dreaming of a warty hog that led her to a cliff by a lake. Since then, Hogwarts educated most wizarding children in the United Kingdom and its surrounding areas, keeping its location hidden from other wizarding schools and muggles.

This is the same school of witchcraft that has been shown in all the series of Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter is equally famous all around the globe and so is in Pakistan.

Almost all the students of the university actively took part in the festival and expressed their interest in the ongoing theme in the most exciting way. The building of the institute was turned into Hogwarts while all the students could be seen guising themselves as the students at Hogwarts in Harry Potter. This beautiful sight became the talk of the town globally and nobody could stop praising the idea.

Although it is impossible everywhere in the world to find everyone happy for something good around them so the same happened in this regard too. Where the news presented a very positive face of Pakistani society and educational institutes, there were many amongst us who criticized the step to the core.

They were of the view that we as Pakistanis have nothing to do with Harry Potter or Hogwarts since its clueless for them.
